So since there is a wav conversion of the "Best Service - World Colours" in the collection, is there an AKAI (or Roland, whichever ever is available for duplication) version of the library? I'm more than curious of knowing such a thing uwu

Has anyone been able to open the Zero-G Deepest India ISO? It is not an iso9660 file. Some googling suggests that it might be a DOS file image for the AKAI s-series? I still can't mount it on Linux though. fdisk doesn't find any disk partitions.

does anyone have Sonic Reality Modern Songwriter library (AKAI)?

I found a super rare AKAI disc "Sonic Reality - Modern Songwriter" with the help of one guy (hello Seth ;))
How can I add it to the archive?

Does anyone have the other Roland LCDX cds? Or any of the missing Roland S-XXX CDs
I've found this Internet Archive page: https://archive.org/details/roland-sample-cd-roms

Unfortunately, it's missing the same part of the L-CDX library as the comfybox archive; but it does contain a good image for L-CDX 1, which is corrupted in this site's archive.

The image for LA Composer Vol. 3 is actually the same E-MU disc image from this site's archive.

Found this through the Internet Archive. Thank you for your service 🫡
Now I don't just have a shit ton of new samples to play with, but also a new website to explore!

Was hoping to mount and browse the Zero G Jungle Warfare 1, 2 & 3 CD's
Using WinBin2ISO on Win10, converted the .bin files to .iso.
But mounting just gives 'The disc image is corrupted' error.

Any ideas?

the 90s_sample_cds_converts has everything zipped as wavs, you probably want to go in there instead.

It sees the programs and samples just fine.

Oh yeah it works there now, I didn't use awave because it doesn't really have any useful formats for what I'm trying to do right now (though at this point I might as well get to work and Frankenstein an XS/XF version of this library)

Wasn't in my plans but might as well

I did try to convert the version from archive.org to something more usable like GIGA (played by g-player or by exs24) but that went horribly wrong

  • N (Guest) Notxeraser:
G-player under logic (at least 2.0) is buggy as all hell

If it works for you, I guess it's fine. It really did not look to me like there was anything wrong with the ISO, after the track mode change.

Oh no the iso is fine, thanks for that

If the archive.org version is the one I think it is, it's exactly the same as the rutracker one.

  • N (Guest) Notxeraser:
Guess it was just a very sloppy conversion job to get it to fit on an AKAI CD

  • A (Guest) anon:
And it looks like it's also the same as the magesy one, too.

    it's half the size

  • N (Guest) Notxeraser:
Seems to have less programs too

I don't know, I have three or four versions I got from different places.

  • N (Guest) Notxeraser:
The archive.org one should be a little over 200mb

  • A (Guest) anon:
You are right that the archive.org one was smaller. It also was an ISO, and not a bin+cue.

  • A (Guest) anon:
    Yup.

  • N (Guest) Notxeraser:
Yeah forgot to mention it was an iso

  • A (Guest) anon:
Anyway, the AKAI stuff itself does not look particularly wrong. If anything, I guess something went wrong when ripping it; but it's really strange that it would result in a cue file with the wrong track type.

What's Mode 2 used for anyway? Never gave it a single thought

with that said I haven't burned a CD in well over a decade

  • N (Guest) Notxeraser:
I think the last time I did it was to burn a copy of SSBB to a DL DVD for some reason

I'm not sure. I think it's something to do with CD-XA.

  • A (Guest) anon:
Essentially, mixing CD-ROM and CD-DA tracks in a single CD.

Not sure what mode 2 would have to do with skipping the first 8 bytes, however.
