Here is a port of the NVIDIA SHIELD versions of Half Life 2 and other source games to non-tegra android devices. Contains the original game files directly from NVIDIA's servers before they were taken down which are needed to play the game.
This is the work of Lithuanian developer nillerusr.
I can't guarantee that this will work on every device, but it worked on mine.

Here's how to install it:
Download the apk from his video: youtube.com/watch?v=jY6W0C0jYDs
Download the first 2 files from this link: http://http.download.nvidia.com/tegrazone/payload/valve/halflife2/ (This is from the nvidia tegrazone server,everything is virus-free and official)
Make a folder in storage named Srceng
Unpack "main" and "patch" and copy them to that folder you've just created
Load from the app,and you are all set
ATTENTION! THE NVIDIA LINKS ARE NOT WORKING ANYMORE! NVIDIA MUST HAVE DELETED THE WHOLE TEGRAZONE FOLDER,THIS IS WHY YOU'RE GETTING A 404 ERROR!

If you want Portal to work do all these steps but with the Portal apk launcher,and download the last two files,not the first two. Check the sizes.

I don't know if you can have all these on one phone
If it doesn't work if you put the main and patch .obb files, download a .zip that contains both (or make your own:
create a folder that is named like this: (for each game)
com.nvidia.valvesoftware.halflife2
com.nvidia.valvesoftware.halflife2ep1
com.nvidia.valvesoftware.halflife2ep2
com.nvidia.valvesoftware.portal
add the .obb files that correspond with the folder/folders
add the folder to a .zip archive, if you're on Android/iOS, try ZArchiver, if you're on Windows/Mac, try WinRAR. For the compression method, choose Store (doesn't compress the files, just stores them in the zip file). If Store does not work, go for Normal (between the Fast and the Good options)
add the newly created .zip (after it's done compressing) to the Srceng folder.
NOTE: It does NOT work if you try to run/store the files on the SD card, it MUST be in the internal storage!
FAQ:
It does NOT require root.
It requires you to have a pretty modern phone that has enough ram,cpu,storage and gpu capacity.
You can't play this on an outdated allview phone or some lenovo model from years back.
This is all virus-free,scanned them myself.
These apk files are only LAUNCHERS. Legally,these cannot be uploaded to Google Play or any digital or physical market. These only handle the code of the game, not also download it. (Downloading those files i mentioned by a program could be potentially illegal,but as they are availabile on the official nvidia server,i think not.)
I will play it next year,when i acquire the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, hopefully by then all the bugs will be fixed and it will be the final version.
Also praying that Valve doesn't take it down,moreover,it could make an official port for Android and possibly iOS.

Counter-Strike:Source doesn't work,as it was never ported to the NVIDIA Shield!
