Favorite VST/Plugin?

My favorite for a while was Crystallizer by Soundtoys which I used heavily on my first album, but I'm more of a fan now of Glitch2/Effectrix2 (basically the same thing)

In terms of instrument VSTs I've been enjoying Diva recently

Zenology. It may be a bit shitty but it has a ton of anything, a lot of variations of different instruments and also customization. It also has a lot of 90's synths

VST-wise my heart goes out to RX950 by Inphonik , the purpose of it is to emulate the sound of an Akai S950 sampler . Its absolutely perfect for shit like boom-bap , old school contemporary R&B as well as New Jack Swing (NEW JACK FOR THE WINNNNN) , jungle , early DnB nd jus other shit frm them old eras that utilized old school Akai samplers . Great for lo-fi shit too . The brightness , the crunch , and the punch this thing can give puts the biggest smile on my face , i esp LOVE it on drums

VSTi-wise , my number 1 favorite is Atmosphere by Spectrasonics . Yes im aware that all Atmosphere patches are in Omnisphere but ITS NOT THE SAMEEEEE bro them shits for Omnisphere is jus rebuilt frm the ground up nd me personally it jus sounds either hella sterilized to the point where it loses its glam or its jus too off bro its so weak . Nothing beats the real Atmosphere

A runner-up for VSTis that i jus couldnt resist to mention would be Alchemy by Camel Audio (now ig the VSTi is Apple's property but wtv lol ion got a Mac nd i couldnt care less abt Logic). Purely godlike but if i wasnt so giddy on the charm Atmosphere brings me then id def wouldve put Alchemy on top without further debate . Im hellbent over the Roland V-Synth nd when it comes to something like Alchemy , which is a spiritual successor to the V-Synth , im immediately sold on it . Theres so much sounds n options already there for u nd it has an almost infinite room for creativity , and the best part is that its easy to get into

i really love Sylenth1. I’ve used many VSTs, but i always end up coming back to it. Recommended if you make trance, hardcore or any progressive/uplifting genre.

I use a lot of strange VSTs, usually the effects are the main ones that people would think are kind of crazy or offbeat. Only a couple of my VSTs I have actually paid for like Amplitube etc., ones that I can't really be without because the default stuff on FL like Hardcore is just...not that great. But I use a ton of free ones and that is when the magic starts happening lol.

I've been in love with AnalogObsession's stuff recently because it really sounds a lot like the real, licensed VSTs for Neve channel strips, etc. and the saturation is great because it automatically gain-stages whatever you are saturating. I also use EQ1979 for the actual EQ part tho, its extremely accurate to the real thing.

But my craziest ones I use are probably the ones that still have a 1998 last-saved date, like the Northpole filter that was used in a lot of Y2K tracks like Music Sounds Better With You by Stardust. Also I use a ton of stuff by Audiodamage especially their Radioshack delay emulation, which emulates a unit you could buy at Radioshack back in like the 80s, and Dubstation which is like that one but allows for delay loops like in dub music and ambient. They sound fucking raw and great. Issues can occur when rendering with them, due to their age, but its very rare. They do have updated versions of some of these, though.

But yeah I was going to do a speadsheet of my VSTs sometime because I've collected so many its hard to sometimes go through them all.
