I remember as a kid i used to be a massive fan of tteokbokki. Something about the texture and the soup we would have it in was just heavenly. Mom usually made it before she croaked.
I think that dish has been overtaken by Carbonara though. Made that with a friend when i visited their house for the first time. Was a nightmare finding guanciale or pancetta at any of the stores in the area. Have been hooked on it ever since.
