I remember as a kid i used to be a massive fan of tteokbokki. Something about the texture and the soup we would have it in was just heavenly. Mom usually made it before she croaked.

I think that dish has been overtaken by Carbonara though. Made that with a friend when i visited their house for the first time. Was a nightmare finding guanciale or pancetta at any of the stores in the area. Have been hooked on it ever since.

The only thing I can imagine myself eating over and over again with unstoppable glee, is a specific Italian Trifle ice cream called Zuppa Inglese. Nothing else matters.

I really really love miso. as long as you have something nice to put in it, it's super easy to make and tastes just divine. i'm especially fond of homemade noodles, squid and aburaage as mixins.

this might sound kinda boring but my favorite food of all time is a caesar salad with grilled chicken. its cheap, healthy (relatively, compared to most american food), and super filling too. Most places I get it from make it so well because I can trust you can't fuck it up LOL

i like to make a dish of chopped broccoli and bite sized sweet italian sausage fried in a pan with olive oil and garlic on medium heat for 15 minutes, rigatoni boiled for 7 minutes, mixed in the pan with a tbsp of butter and a cup of pecorino romano cheese

Gado-gado - Indonesian salad with a spicy peanut dressing. The place near me did it with tofu fritters, lettuce, shredded jicama, beansprouts, tomato, and green beans. Godly. If you're feeling eggs though, you might try egg curry/"egg fry", popular throughout India, or "HK-style" scrambled eggs: 2-3 eggs, soya sauce, green onions, a bit of sesame oil, white pepper, and some shrimp (all to taste) - toss in a frying pan and cook until still slightly liquidy, and it goes spectacularly over rice.
