    I'd suggest Kubuntu for smoothest transition from Windows. KDE has similiar UI layout to Windows

    Any of ubuntu flavors should work fine. Base Ubuntu, Mint, Kubuntu, Lubuntu. Easy to use as a daily driver, tons of resources online
